“By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son.” Hebrews 11:17
Conclusion
Abraham’s faith was proven not in the receiving of the promise, but in his willingness to obey God even when it seemed to contradict everything God had promised him. True faith trusts God’s character even when His instructions don’t make sense — believing that He is able to perform what He has spoken, no matter the cost.
