“With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles.”

II Chronicles 32:8 (KJV)

Scripture Reading

II Chronicles 32:1–8 (KJV)

1 After these things, and the establishment thereof, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fenced cities, and thought to win them for himself.

2 And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib was come, and that he was purposed to fight against Jerusalem,

3 He took counsel with his princes and his mighty men to stop the waters of the fountains which were without the city: and they did help him.

4 So there was gathered much people together, who stopped all the fountains, and the brook that ran through the midst of the land, saying, Why should the kings of Assyria come, and find much water?

5 Also he strengthened himself, and built up all the wall that was broken, and raised it up to the towers, and another wall without, and repaired Millo in the city of David, and made darts and shields in abundance.

6 And he set captains of war over the people, and gathered them together to him in the street of the gate of the city, and spake comfortably to them, saying,

7 Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him:

8 With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

Communion Scripture

1 Corinthians 11:23–29 (KJV)

23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.

27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

Communion Meditation

My life was once in sin, but I stand today by the love and grace of Jesus. Our God is not as other gods — He is the only true and living God.

I should not give place to my enemies. I should not give way to my own desires. The spiritual battle is in the mind, but God dwells in the heart. My decisions must flow from listening to the Lord within.

I want to be the same before my God — not pretending, not wearing a mask. I have faults and sins, and I confess them to my Lord, trusting that He will correct me.

He touched me, and I will not remain the same. He has done a great work in my life. Praise be to my Lord.

I desire to overcome. I must be strong, pray continually, and listen to His Word speaking in my heart.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid.

I rest my heart in God and trust in the way of my Lord Jesus Christ. I will obey Him and follow what He has taught.

God knows my heart. He gives living water that satisfies the thirst of the soul. He is my fulfilment and my blessing.

Thank You, Lord, for Your love and grace.
