William Marrion Branham
William Marrion Branham was one of the most influential Bible ministers of the twentieth century. He was considered by many to be the initiator of the healing and charismatic revival that began in 1947, from which a multitude of internationally known ministries emerged.
From 1947 until his passing in 1965, the impact of his ministry was felt not only throughout North America, but around the world. His meetings were marked by the unmistakable working of the supernatural, bringing faith, healing, and a deeper reverence for the Word of God.
Fulfilling Malachi 4
The ministry of William Marrion Branham pointed hearts back to the Scriptures and to the faith of the early Church. Many believe his ministry fulfilled the promise of Malachi 4:5–6 — a turning of the hearts of the children back to the fathers before the great and dreadful Day of the Lord.
“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers.”— Malachi 4:5–6
The Pillar of Fire
On January 24th, 1950, during a debate on Divine Healing at the Sam Houston Coliseum in Houston, Texas, a photographer named Ted Kipperman was assigned by Douglas Studio to document the event involving Bro. Branham’s ministry.
During the confrontation, Bro. Branham denied ever calling himself a divine healer, stating:
“Anyone knows that God will have nothing to do with error, and if I tell the truth, then God will speak of me.”

At that moment, the Pillar of Fire—described in Scripture and witnessed at many of Bro. Branham’s meetings—descended. Mr. Kipperman stepped forward and captured the photograph shown below. The photograph was later examined and verified as authentic by George J. Lacy of the American Society of Questioned Document Examiners.
